Dear 

I am writing as a constituent regarding the Peak Cluster carbon capture proposals and their potential impact on the environment.

I am extremely concerned about the proposed pipeline route through both residential areas and greenbelt, the associated smaller Above Ground Installations (AGIs), and the plans for larger re-compression facilities. Together, these represent a significant piece of new industrial infrastructure in what are largely residential and environmentally sensitive areas.  There are also the health and safety concerns of a pressurised CO₂ leak in these residential areas. 

This project is set to cost £Billions, destroy greenbelt land, leave AGIs scaring the pathway through our greenbelt and will also require huge industrial facilities to condition and re-compress the CO₂ that will run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week blighting the local landscape. 

This proposal is not a genuinely sustainable and financially viable solution, especially in the context of the UK’s current debt levels and our relatively low CO₂ emissions compared with many other industrialised nations.

I urge you to do the right thing and join with the vast majority of local residents, condemn this project for the high cost, vanity project that it is and fight to ensure that it does not go ahead.
